I don’t know how much I can take – but the show must go on!

I cannot take Dr. Quinn and Sully anymore. Ever since they got married they are so kissy and romantic. Not to be dramatic but I would rather swallow a knife then watch anymore of their lovey dovey nonsense! The worst part is I will have an episode going in the background why I am busy doing other things…don’t want you to think I just sit glued to the screen with this show – I STAY BUSY WHEN I WATCH TV! Anyhow, I was saying, so I’ll be doing something, listening to the show and then all of a sudden I hear all this SMOOCHING – REALLY, are you SERIOULSY kissing again. I think you were doing that in the last scene, yup, pretty sure! Okay, so maybe I’m jealous of her relationship, the fact that she’s married, that her and Sully can…I’ll let your mind wonder about that. The fact is, I CAN’T STOP WATCHING the show, I have to see what happens next! No matter the amount of kissing that goes on – the show must continue forward – I will endure! I will endure! I will endure!

P.S. Libby S. the wedding scene was hilarious, and I took your advice...as silly as the show might be I haven't skipped one yet...I would like to, but I can't do it.

Crazy about YARN!!!

Every day for the past week I have made a trip to Roberts Craft Store. I now have a new tradition. Each day I go into the store and walk all the way to the back of the store where the yarn is kept. I walk past the isle a couple of times and then pick one scane/skane (not sure how to spell it...) of yarn. I then walk up to the front and wait in line for a cashier. It's my turn in line, I politely ask the cashier if there is either a 50% off coupon, or a 40% off coupon. Depending on the day of the week, Monday and Tuesday is 50% and the rest of the week is 40%. I take my almost five dollar skane of yarn and end up paying around $2.50, including tax - HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! What would normally cost me around $25.00 to make a baby afghan is now only costing me half that!!! That my friends, is why I am CRAZY ABOUT YARN!

P.S. I need to give credit it to my cousin Summer for giving me the idea of making daily trips into the store. I pass Roberts every day, even twice a day, so it's not like I'm going out of my way to do this. Thanks Summer.

Hello, My Name is Liberty, and I have a Learning Disability.

I am taking a Special Education class this semester because it is required for the education program, and my degree.  However, as I have been attending the class and learning about students with learning disabilities I have found that I too have a learning disability.  I apparently struggle with directions.  Oh don’t you worry your little self I’m almost positive as this class continues on I will find more learning disabilities that I have.

As for now I am accepting this disability, and here is why.  As a child I remember distinctly my mom giving me the responsibility of making Mac & Cheese FROM A BOX.  I completely and 100% ruined the dinner, all because I did not read the directions carefully.  Mac & Cheese how hard is that to make???  I know you are saying that to your self right about now.  As a student in classes at school (even now) when an assignment is given orally I am completely lost, in the end, because of embarrassment I have to ask a fellow student or see the teacher.  As I have began to sew for myself and for classes at school, for me to read the pattern is almost impossible!  Reading recipes is a joke for me, I have to really study the recipe and continue to go back and check.  There has been numerous times where an ingredient has been left out – simply because I did not read/understand the directions. Another situation that brought this even more to my attention was Enrichment on Wednesday.  The lesson was on keeping a journal, and the activity was making our own journal – a book.  Well, long story short I went through the whole process to have the instructor of the class rip mine apart, and then for her to just give me all new supplies and send me on my way.  Yup, couldn’t take directions.

The reason I bring this up now is because just a few days ago in my Special Education class we had to split up into five groups and do some group activities, these were all activities that students in school with learning disabilities struggle with.  One of the activities was a “follow directions” activity.  I soon became the “class clown” because I was the only one who did not understand the directions.  I thought I was following the directions and everyone else was the “stupid” one.  Oh no, it was all me - Yeah Buddy.  In the end I didn’t feel all that bad because in some of the other activities I scored pretty high while others scored lower.

I also want to point out that some of the most influential people in the world struggle themselves with learning disabilities, such as, Charles Schwab, Walt Disney, Tom Cruise (Yeah, Tom Cruise, he’s already a nut case???), just to name a few.

Stay tuned, it will be interesting to see what other disabilities I have…we know one is singing.  Wink, wink!

Denied!

I got denied in the name of LOVE! I was trying to please Edward Cullen by giving blood today at SUU. I went through all the reading, tests, and then I got the question. The question asking if I had been outside the United States in the past year, boy have I? I told the young man where I had been, and then he said, "I'm sorry it looks like you can't give blood for up to a year because during your travels you have traveled to countries that have given you exposure to malaria." What the HECK - Edward won't care, or would he? Besides I just spent an hour of my time here to get told that I am DENIED! Edward, my love, I am sorry, it's not my turn to become a bloodsucker as Jacob calls them, but give me a year and I'll be ready to go! That is unless I travel to the Holy Land, but the Holy Land should be safe...it is called "Holy!"

"I'm not FAT, I'm just unfit!"

That's my new favorite quote, from my new favorite movie:  Run Fat Boy, Run.  I have been waiting months for this movie to come out on DVD, and as soon as it was released Netflix sent it my way, bless their hearts!  For any of you (Shellie) that have ran a marathon this is the movie to see.  It is heartwarming, yet hilarious!  I don't think I have ever laughed so hard since I watched Little Miss Sunshine!  A pre warning, this movie is a "British" movie - with British humor, and is also David Schwimmers (Ross from Friends) first director debut.  However, I will just say this, the blister scene is the funniest scene ever...and I'm going to leave it at that!  Rent Run Fat Boy, Run, I promise you won't be disappointed!

I FINALLY Got a Job!

Some of you may know already, but I finally got a job!  Don't get me wrong, being unemployed and traveling all over the place is great, but you can only do it for so long.  Basically I ran out of money, and I need to pay a few bills that come up each month, phone, car insurance, rent, food, you know, the basics.  However, my motivation in getting and finding a job was to be able to buy a new iPod Touch in February, and to be able to maintain my hair coloring and cutting.  Great motivators???

My hard work of searching paid off (fasting/praying, having numerous interviews, continually calling back, emailing, etc.).  I got hired on to be a Testing Assistant at SUU.  I start today, but officially start on the 20th of January.  The testing center is a new facility on campus; me and three other students get to be the ones to get it all started, which I think is pretty cool - basically it will look good on my resume.  AND Summer (my cousin) thinks it will be good for my social life...possibly be able to meet someone.  We'll see?  Anyhow, I'm just really excited to have a job, excited to get started, and excited to get a new iPod!

I'm At It Again...

Christmas this year my brother Cash got LOT'S of TV season DVDs.  Bless my mom's heart she gave him all the seasons to Saved by the Bell, and of course, season 3 & 4 of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.  As my title says, "I'm at it again," which means I have began to watch season 3 and am enjoying every bit of it.  I have taken Cash's advice and skipped a few shows just because he said they were 100% CHEESY!  Example, the one I skipped was a two-parter where Sully saves President Grant - enough said!  Anyhow, I am looking forward to the wedding of Dr. Quinn and Sully and can't tell you how glad I am that they are waiting until they are married before doing the deed.  After spending my Christmas break watching all FIVE seasons of One Tree Hill (thanks to my cousin Summer...) and seeing how these high school kids live in sin I am totally ready for a wholesome, clean show.  Not that I'm dissing on One Tree Hill, but seriously have you seen it?Every episode has someone sleeping with someone else.  So soapy!!!  Dr. Quinn = WHOLESOME, and that is very rare to see these days.  So everyone, let's give three cheers to Dr. Quinn!

Life...It's Happening???

School started today...It also snowed today...I got turned down on a job today...I slipped on the snow today...I'm okay - just my pride got hurt???  I have spent two hours filling out job applications, I was told that I will not, or can not be taking any more semesters off; that means Alaska is a "no" this summer.  I got a check in the mail that I was expecting - taxes got taken out - wasn't expecting that?  I know, I know, it's life - get use to it!

Anyhow...on a lighter note, I'm taking a SOCIAL DANCE CLASS and the teacher is SMOK'N DELICIOUS!!!  Yes, my life does not seem to be going the way I want it, but did I say that I am taking a social dance class and the teacher is:  Male, SINGLE...I didn't see a ring, VERY ATTRACTIVE, AWESOME DANCER, Mormon, Return Missionary (not that "RM" matters), and to top it all off he LOOKS TO BE ABOUT MY AGE, or a little bit older.  AND for all ya folks who know me so well - HE HAS BLUE EYES!  Can you hear my excitement?  Woosh, I'm in love.  Stay tuned, doesn't this semester sound like it might be an exciting one?

His hip movement put me on another level!  DANG YO!
