I went to the big guys on campus and they made it very clear I WILL student teach, and I WILL pass the praxis. They don't want me coming back to them a few years down the road saying I want my teaching license. If I do that it will be ten times harder. Believe me, as I was on my knees graveling (LITERALLY) I asked them to just let me graduate. NOPE! I'm sure I'll be grateful come May...as I'm walking down the isle to receive my diploma - with student teaching done. However, SUU has a policy in place that you have to pass your content praxis exam BEFORE you student teach. The PLT exam just needs to be taken - they don't care about the score. If you don't pass that test you have up to three years (even why you are teaching) to take that test. I guess it will be good to have a month break before I student teach...I get to relax, hang out, STUDY, read some books, and just do things that require no money since I am poor. I thought about going on a trip somewhere because I do have a free plane ticket, but it would probably be best for me to STUDY and not goof around. Be all mature and stuff?????

Thanks for your thoughts, I really appreciate it. Was just having one of those days yesterday - and the day before. ;)Lib-Dawg https://www.blogger.com/profile/10973392978582580112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1800250852486467153.post-8268737419259788292011-12-08T11:19:46.108-06:002011-12-08T11:19:46.108-06:00That sucks. Anyway, I'm really sorry to hear about the two points.

I'm sure you'll keep trudging along. If you could get through Chemistry Hell, then you can handle this little bump in the road, right?

You will eventually have that stupid degree! I know it! And it will happen soon!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1800250852486467153.post-1267549156196501712011-12-08T09:04:28.793-06:002011-12-08T09:04:28.793-06:00I'm sorry... I'm sure if you were that close, you'll pass next time!!

I'm glad they didn't have those when I started teaching.... however, I had to take two of them to renew my license and they were not easy.Anisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14599636551373733526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1800250852486467153.post-62104486749383204392011-12-07T20:50:53.917-06:002011-12-07T20:50:53.917-06:00I have faith that you'll pass. Pull out The Power of Positive Thinking over the break and get yourself reacquainted with positive thinking, it is more powerful than most people think. I don't doubt that you'll be sitting next to me at graduation in May.Mrs Buchananhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00120705654474114273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1800250852486467153.post-33968409066620975722011-12-07T20:30:55.226-06:002011-12-07T20:30:55.226-06:00If you don't plan on teaching I don't thin...If you don't plan on teaching I don't think you need to take pass the praxis, they just might not license you, you'd still get the degree. OR some institutions will award the degree and recommend you for licensure but your students parents will have to be informed that you are not "highly qualified". Maybe that will work. The degree and the license are totally different things.Logan and Sydneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00622266254009486592noreply@blogger.com
